Rains alot in Lot!

Monday 20th

Rain, rain and more rain, well we can’t be lucky all the time. This morning we set off to see another one of Lot’s prettiest towns called Capdenac and we decided to take another scenic route from St Cere to Figeac and we finally arrived at Capdenac. It was a windy mountainous road but unfortunately most of the time we were in the fog or above the clouds so we couldn’t take many pictures.

Capdenac is another majestic fortress town built high above the river in the province of Quercy. Neolithic people colonised in this area and many centuries later the Romans utilised its strategic position as a defence base.  It is very picturesque with little lanes and medieval houses. We had lunch from the highest point and managed to eat before the heavy rain set in.

After this we drove to Assier to look at its fort but it was closed so we decided to come home and have a few liquors instead and plan for tomorrow. The days just seem to pass very quickly and we hope tomorrow won’t be so wet because we still have 2 of the most prettiest town to see and we also want to do some canoeing and bike riding. We are told that it won't clear up until Wednesday but fingers crossed it will ease up. It is quite cold too and fortunately we have a small gas heater in our cabin so it is very cosy. Now we have time for a little R & R so until tomorrow we hope you are all well.

  1. What a shame about the rain. Just as well it does not stop you from doing what you want to do.
Typical European weather. You just can not trust it.
    Hopefully it will stop soon
